Monthly News Update

August 2006

David Sandeman, Managing Director Welcome to the August newsletter giving a summary of the results for July 2006. As predicted in the last newsletter, July was a very busy month with the most number of auctions and lots that we have covered in a single month since we started keeping records 16 years ago.

Summer madness!
Many of you will have been greeted with our 'Summer Madness' page when you have logged into the site. We have had a huge response by way of requests and suggestions and the IT team are hard at work looking at them and devising ways of implementing the ideas that you, our clients, have come up with. Many thanks for all the suggestions and keep them coming. Next month I will be able to give you news on what changes we will be making to the site based on these suggestions.

Kind regards

Regional Auction Analysis
Big increases were seen when comparing July 05 and July 06 in the number of lots offered in several regions. East midlands was up 69%, North West up 47%, Northern England up 66% and Wales up 36%. We are seeing more new regional auction houses and existing ones with larger catalogues and this may well be the reason for the increase.
